Little ava is curious and oh so sweet!
And her parents are (obviously) over the moon about her! Enjoy the photos of this adorable family below, and welcome to the world, little one!

This session made me tear up as I was editing (sure, it was in part because I’m a crier, but it’s also because I’ve known Erik & Maria, Rayla’s parents, for forever, and am SO FREAKING HAPPY for them and their new little family)! The light was everything we could have hoped for as we captured these beautiful family moments too, which I’m thrilled about!
Welcome to Earth, Rayla! You couldn’t have sweeter or more wonderful parents! Enjoy these adorable family photos, friends!

Earth is a little weird, but I think she’s gonna like it. :)
I was honored to be able to photograph Ramona’s newborn portraits on what would have been her due date. This little peanut was so sweet (which makes total sense given how great her parents are) and it was a joy to get to photograph this little family and celebrate with them!
If you’d like to see more of Erin + Matt, here are some of the fun adventures they’ve had! And here’s to many more!

This little kiddo was just over 3 weeks old when I arrived at his house to take photos to celebrate his arrival into the world! His sister Rylan, already being an excellent big sister, also got to show me her stuffed avocado which is just about the cutest thing ever (besides these two kiddos of course).
Congrats to Lily, Aaron, and Rylan on their new addition to the family! Welcome Remy!

Fiona’s 1 year portraits (check them out here) were the last family portraits I did before the pandemic, so it was nice to get to see Fiona 18 months older and to meet her new little sister, Winnie, for my first family portrait session post-vaccination!
Welcome to the world, Winnie!

Charlie’s newborn session was filled with cuteness (obviously), matching outfits, and Pride-themed apparel. I was so happy to get to celebrate Charlie with Chelsea.+ Doug! Enjoy this adorable family and welcome to the world, Charlie!

It seems like just yesterday that I was doing maternity portraits for Lily + Aaron (check those out here), but in the blink of an eye, little Rylan arrived, and before we knew it, it was time to capture her newborn photos!
Let’s also just admit right now that it’s a weird year to be born in (let alone a weird year to be a new parent), but something tells me Rylan is going to do great, and she’s got the most loving parents even to look after her in these strange times. I am so excited to have been able to celebrate with this little family! Congrats Lily + Aaron!
-Sam
p.s. See if you can find the picture where Rylan is playing a mean air guitar :)
First, you might remember Fiona’s mom and dad from such weddings as this - check out this super fun wedding and dream of warmer Spring days!
Now, about the baby! Fiona was a gem for our photo day! She was wide awake (which almost never happens), and just looked so curious about the world, which I love. She also had some animal friends get curious about getting their photo taken too!
Welcome to the world kid! It’s crap sometimes but good family and good friends make it all worthwhile. I think you’re going to like it. :)

You know you’re photographing an adorably nerdy family when the phrase “We don’t hit the baby with the lightsaber” comes out as the toddler gently bops the newborn with a soft, knitted lightsaber.
One of the first things Kim and I bonded over when we first met was our mutual love of Star Wars, and it’s obvious her husband and kiddos share that love. So when little Kayleigh was born, it’s no wonder she got her own turn to wear the Yoda hat (it was too small for Alex when he was born) and to wield a lightsaber.
Check out these cute photos of this awesome family of Star Wars fans!

Seriously though, Ada has two amazing parents, and if she’s lucky, will be a firecracker just like them. Check out the last photo, which will be the album cover of her grunge revival band in about 18 years. I had so much fun taking photos of this beautiful family! I’m so grateful for the opportunity to photograph such an important milestone, so thanks to James & Carlie!

The first thing I noticed about Benji (how flipping adorable is that name?!) is that he loves looking around and taking it all in. He was fascinated by what was happening outside the living room window in his house as we were taking photos. This little guy was so well-behaved and just the sweetest, though since his parents were as sweet as can be, despite the lack of sleep common to all new parents, this comes as no surprise!
I don't often get to photograph newborns, but I always love how even at such a young age, you can see personality and wonder in the world around these little ones!
So with that said, welcome to the world, kiddo! I think you're going to like it!
