I absolutely love lifestyle family portraits, especially when it comes to newborns. There’s something beautiful and affirming about the chaos of kiddos running around and parents holding them, along with their new little sibling, that just makes me so happy! I think it’s because even when parenting is hard, the joy in the everyday is profound.
Holly + Rich and their two older kiddos, Fiona and Winnie, welcomed home their new little sister, Marigold just a few short weeks ago! Goldie is settled in at home, and is exactly as adorable as her name (which is to say very)!

Cara + Richard, Iris’ parents, welcomed Iris home in late December, and we had newborn portraits just after Christmas, so the house was decked out in all it’s Yuletide glory! We got to have a laid back, cozy newborn portrait session, with all three family members dressed in hand-knit sweaters. Even the dogs got to get their photos taken! (Hi Melba & Bundy!). This session made me tear up as I was editing (sure, it was in part because I’m a crier, but it’s also because I’ve known Erik & Maria, Rayla’s parents, for forever, and am SO FREAKING HAPPY for them and their new little family)! I was honored to be able to photograph Ramona’s newborn portraits on what would have been her due date. This little peanut was so sweet (which makes total sense given how great her parents are) and it was a joy to get to photograph this little family and celebrate with them!

This little kiddo was just over 3 weeks old when I arrived at his house to take photos to celebrate his arrival into the world! His sister Rylan, already being an excellent big sister, also got to show me her stuffed avocado which is just about the cutest thing ever (besides these two kiddos of course).
