UW Arboretum

Sienna, Declan, and Landon's Fall Family Portraits at UW

Marisa + John and their kiddos had perfect weather for their family portraits

Despite the fact that the mosquitoes were still out and about (in mid-October, what the heck?!), everyone got to enjoy how lovely the sunshine and cool air felt while we walked around taking photos at the Arboretum, and we even got to see a deer passing by before it went on its way! Enjoy the photos of this sweet family having some Fall fun!

Hugo and his parents, Emily + Patrick, had a lovely Fall family portrait session!

Mariela + James: An Idyllic Fall Engagement Session at the UW Arboretum

Mariela + James are planning for a california wedding, but wanted a wisconsin engagement session

And I feel like around Madison at least, there are few places that embody the beauty of Wisconsin than the UW Arboretum in Fall! Despite the Fall colors not being out in full force yet (such strange weather we’ve had this Fall so far!), the golden hour light lit everything up with a beautiful glow, including these two love birds. We could not have asked for a more perfect setting or weather!

Help me wish Mariela + James a BIG congratulations on their engagement, and enjoy the beautiful photos!

Adan's Senior Portraits at the UW Arboretum

We were lucky to have the start of some gorgeous warm fall foliage for Adan’s Senior Portraits!

And despite the insane number of mosquitoes (what is up with this year?!), everyone survived and we were able to get these handsome senior photos of Adan, as well as some super sweet photos of Adan with his mom, Kim.

PSA: If you’re a parent and you’ll be present for your kid’s senior portraits, you won’t regret getting some photos with them (and telling them how proud you are of them, and how excited you are for the next phase of their journey through life)!

Enjoy the sweet photos of Adan!

Maternity & Family Portraits at the UW Arboretum

This sweet and growing family braved all of the mosquitoes in the world for their maternity & family portraits!

Seriously, so many mosquitoes, but also, how cute are these photos?! I’ve been honored to photograph this little family at nearly every important milestone, from Lily + Aaron’s engagement portraits and wedding, to their maternity & newborn photos for their two oldest, Rylan and Remy, and now the maternity photos for their little-one-on-the-way!

I can’t wait to meet the newest addition in a few months! Help me wish this wonderful family a big congrats!

Fall Family Portraits at the UW Arboretum

It is always a joy to get to see clients whose weddings we’ve photographed again, especially when I get to meet the next generation!

Will is such a sweet kiddo, and it was a blessing to get to meet him and catch up with Catherine + John, whose wedding we photographed almost a decade ago! This little pumpkin wasn’t so sure about the camera at first, but look at the smile on him (and the extra skeptical side-eye too lol)! Congrats to this adorable little family!

Mushroom's Senior Portraits at the UW Arboretum

This young adult has the best style

And the best taste in X-men characters! (I’m in agreement with Mushroom that Dazzler doesn’t get nearly enough love) It was such a joy to get to talk with them and their mom and grandma during their portrait session! Good luck with senior year, Mushroom!

Sierra's Senior Portraits at the UW Arboretum

The UW Arboretum was a beautiful setting for Sierra’s senior portraits

I was fortunate enough to get to take Sierra’s senior portraits at the UW Arboretum during some truly spectacular golden hour light, on the eve of a particularly gorgeous full moon, and it was as magical as it was buggy! I think the mosquito bites were worth it though. Enjoy the pics, and help me wish Sierra a big congrats on embarking on her senior year of high-school!

An Extended Family Portrait Session at the UW Arboretum

i had an amazing time photographing this beautiful extended family

And as you can see from the pictures, the lighting and weather were absolutely PERFECT! I’ve been photographing this family for a decade (which is wild), ever since my own son was only 6, and some of the younger members of this family were still teens. Now as the extended family continues to grow and those former teens now have families of their own, I am feeling so amazingly honored to be able to capture their joy over the years! Enjoy the pics of this awesome family (and their adorable little kiddos)!

Rayla's Newborn Portraits at the UW Arboretum

Rayla and her mom and dad had a beautiful golden hour family photo session at the UW Arboretum

This session made me tear up as I was editing (sure, it was in part because I’m a crier, but it’s also because I’ve known Erik & Maria, Rayla’s parents, for forever, and am SO FREAKING HAPPY for them and their new little family)! The light was everything we could have hoped for as we captured these beautiful family moments too, which I’m thrilled about!

Welcome to Earth, Rayla! You couldn’t have sweeter or more wonderful parents! Enjoy these adorable family photos, friends!

Family Portraits at the UW Arboretum

Cam, Freya, and their parents had a lovely family portrait session on a hot spring day at the arboretum

I was a little worried the weather was going to turn south but the day turned out so beautifully! Cam was an adorable little ham, and Freya just was not sure about me until we started blowing raspberries (which like, fair enough) and then we got on swimmingly! It is one of the honors of my life to document family moments for couples whose weddings we’ve photographed, and it was so fun to see Cam again and get to meet little Freya!

Enjoy these sweet family moments!

Fall Family Portraits at the UW Arboretum

I love the enthusiasm and personality Kayleigh and Alex bring to family portraits!

I also am soooo jealous of having that much energy, but it’s always a blast spending time with these four, and seeing what wacky adventures the kids will get into. I love all the “monster” pics in particular!

Enjoy these adorable fall family photos!
