I hadn’t been out to the Epic campus in Verona, WI in a few years, and it was just as fun (and as much of a maze) as I remembered! The colors in that subway area are my favorite, and I love how they worked with Charlie, Chelsea, and Doug’s matching outfits! I was honored to be able to photograph Ramona’s newborn portraits on what would have been her due date. This little peanut was so sweet (which makes total sense given how great her parents are) and it was a joy to get to photograph this little family and celebrate with them!

You might remember Erin + Matt from such weddings as this one. But it turns out, life didn’t stop after they got married (why does everyone think it does?) No, it just got cooler, and they’re now expecting a little kiddo in February!

This little kiddo was just over 3 weeks old when I arrived at his house to take photos to celebrate his arrival into the world! His sister Rylan, already being an excellent big sister, also got to show me her stuffed avocado which is just about the cutest thing ever (besides these two kiddos of course).

Though I’ve already told Grace she’ll probably need to come back for portraits every year still, since I’ve been taking Fall family portraits for Erin, Dan, Grace, Ben, and Isaac since 2016 if you can believe it! It’s awesome how much all the kids have changed, and how much they also all look the same (I think the same about my own kiddo all the time). These were beautiful family portraits against the stunning fall colored backdrop of the Pope Farm Conservancy, and even though it was cold as all get out, the family did a great job of keeping their spirits up and keeping warm!

I’ve been honored to photograph Alex and Kayleigh since they were both itty bitty newborns, and to see the sweet kids they’ve become as they’ve gotten older is so awesome. I love how fun and funny these two are! These two adorable goofballs were a blast, and sure kept their parents on their toes this year! ;)

No seriously, it was very stormy, despite the weather app telling us clear skies until just before the session, but we managed to fit in a little 30 minute session just before the skies opened up, and boy were they beautiful! It made for some very dramatic photos, which I love, and Rylan and her parents, Lily + Aaron, were such troopers! This adorable little family is expecting a new addition in November, and I could not be more thrilled for them! Pics to come!

Now the bummer is that meant I didn’t get to see their dog and two kitties, but the upside is how awesome Winnie + Fiona’s colorful outfits worked with the amazing murals all around Willy street, and how we got to get a nice little walk in during our session when we headed on over to BB Clarke Beach Park! I don’t do senior portraits often, but this session was so fun it’s making me hope that I end up doing more of them! Grace and her mom Erin and I walked along Willy Street, taking advantage of some of the gorgeous murals along the way, ending up on Lake Monona just before sunset! Lots of laughs, lots of trying not to fall in the lake, and lots of fun spinning at the end (why don’t I make people spin more? It’s great!)

Like many folks, Joey (who goes by the derby name DadJeans) grew a mullet out during the pandemic, and like many wives, his wife Erin was less than thrilled about the mullet. So when Joey finally decided it was time to give the mullet up, he also decided it was a great time to get epic nineties country music singer inspired photos taken as a surprise gift for Erin before he cut it all off for good.
